Easyspace Domain name registration services ( With zero technical support ) |
Oh what a complete nightmare this experience was. I should have looked at some of the reviews that I have since found here http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/reviews.php?web_host_name=Easyspace.
I only bought domain name registration from them so I cannot comment on their other services. However, there seem to be many disgruntled customers out there who have.
Everything was fine until I used their new - and useless - control panel in an attempt to move the authorative DNS servers for a domain somewhere else. This seems to work OK, but from that point on the domain was removed from the 2nd level servers at least 3 times a day. To fix this I had to use the easyspace control panel to change the addresses around and force another update. Attempting to move the servers back to Easyspace resulted in the same problem coupled with server side application errors when attempting to add DNS records. This is a commercial domain supporting email and web hosting so it's not a trivial matter to the company concerned.
No problem, I'll raise a support request via the helpdesk portal - don't bother! After 2 request, with multiple updates from me along the way I have had no response after 9 days. Give them a ring I thought! Try finding a contact number, no way, you can FAX them though. I sent 5 Faxes and still no reply. I emailed the support email address, the sales email address, and the hostmaster. No response from anybody. The lights are definitely out in this facility.
So, I'm in the process of trying to prise the domain from their hands and move it to a competent hosting company. God help anybody who hosts a web site or email with Easyspace. I guess you get what you pay for. Easyspace are cheap but provide non existent technical support and completely ignore their customers unless depriving them of their hard earned cash. It also seems that Easyspace want to relieve me of £50.00, to cover administration costs, before they will release the domain. We'll see what happens.
